TROPIC STAR LODGE – PANAMA

TROPIC STAR LODGE

Tropic Star Lodge is a world-renowned fishing resort located in Piñas Bay, Panama. The luxury lodge is carved into the hillside of the Darien Jungle and can only be reached by boat or charter plane. The remote Pacific location provides amazing fishing and onshore jungle opportunities for guests. Anglers looking to catch billfish, especially Black Marlin, Blue Marlin and Sailfish are in for an amazing bucket list fishing experience. Its also not just the bill fish that Tropic star is famous for, their average size of dorado and yellowfin are some of the largest in the world along with the sheer numbers of these fish present in the surrounding waters. With more fishing world records than any other resort, people from around the world visit Tropic Star to achieve their fishing dreams and experience the Darien Rainforest.

No matter what time of the year you book you have the option of what you want to target and where, its always great to mix things up, this can even be done during the day for example – offshore for billfish in the morning then the afternoon inshore for multiple species consisting of rooster fish, grouper, Cubera snapper and multiple jacks including giant almaco. Trolling live baits, plastics, popping and fly fishing are all possible here both offshore and inshore, this is entirely down to how you would personally like to target these fish.

The majority of species can be caught all year round but if you have a specific target in mind it is highly advised to take note of the prime time below, especially for black marlin, prices are reflected in this due to the incredibly high demand to catch these fish and how short the main season is. Please note that 6 days fishing is only available during black marlin season.

Tropic Star Lodge has provided the ultimate in offshore and inshore fishing adventures for their guests for the past 59 years, and has even been named “the Best Fishing Resort in the world.” Their Pacific waters are famed for holding a vast variety of treasured species, and guests are able to spend more time fishing & less time getting to the fish, with the reef only 20 minutes away.
