ALASKA TROPHY ADVENTURE LODGE

Situated on the remote banks of the Wild and Scenic Alagnak River, ATA Lodge is the perfect wilderness fishing retreat. The lodge consists of 160 acres of prime river frontage, located in the most iconic section of the Alagnak known as the Upper Braids. It is so remote the only accessible is via bush plane landing on a private airstrip on the property. What makes this lodge so special is that it is a family run business, they have so much passion for this place and are on camp throughout the whole season.

Wading and fishing are made easy from either jet boats or on the many small natural islands and gravel bars that are situated all throughout the river. The Alagnak has world-famous runs of all five species of Pacific Salmon, to the extent of being there at the right time can actually result in a grand-slam of these fish. Along with the migratory salmon and artic char, the river boasts some spectacular resident fish, from incredible looking super charged rainbow trout to huge grayling. The absolute crystal clear water allows for perfect stalking conditions, whilst slow runs and fast riffles are common place’s to connect with fish, there are hundreds of pools well suited to holding huge pods of resting Salmon, including kings up to and over 35lbs.

Alaska is the dream destination for fly fisherman from around the world, with the Alagnak giving the opportunity for all styles, whether its spey casting and swinging flys for kings, stripping mouse patterns and surface lures for hard fighting rainbows or smaller natural patterns for grayling, the river has it all. Spinning is also allowed and very productive, it gives a great chance to connect with the majority of species that are in the river. The Lodge is open and runs from June through to mid September, during this time period the runs of millions of pacific salmon change, these runs of fish are so consistent, even down to the same week each year. The resident fish are there all year round and can be targeted throughout the season, although their feeding habits change through out the months, the guides will always keep you right with tactics and patterns.
